He was supposed to be the face of Aprilia’s MotoGP effort for the foreseeable future and allowed to find his pace in MotoGP over the long haul but rider Sam Lowes found out the hard way that what Aprilia really wants in MotoGP is a rider like Marc Marquez or Johan Zarco–someone who can run at the front on sheer ability with a race or less under his belt.
Reportedly Aprilia cancelled Lowes’ contract in the period between Brno and Red Bull Ring.
Lowes’ manager, ex-rider Roger Burnett, said that, incredibly, Lowes signed a contract with Aprilia that included a five day provision in it where he could be fired.
Reports that Aprilia have hired Redding to replace him are said to be premature.
