No “Lap of Ski” at Daytona

Ostensibly at some point someone thought it was a good idea to team Dave Sadowski and Thomas Stevens together. This was not one of those times.

It doesn’t sound like there will be a “lap of Ski” at Daytona as was hoped after the famed Daytona 200 winner passed away in January. An informal plan was for one of Sadowski’s sons to ride Sadowski’s Daytona-winning Yamaha OW01 for a lap of the Daytona circuit before the upcoming MotoAmerica Daytona 200 race, but logistical and scheduling issues have prevented it from happening.

Sadowski’s Daytona 200-winning Yamaha is owned by George Barber (Barber Museum in Leeds Alabama) and Mr. Barber and company do not want the OW–on display in his museum–removed from the grounds which suggests that a lap of Barber may be easier to facilitate.
