Pol Espargaro To Miss Thailand Test After Strange High Speed Crash At Sepang

(Above not the same crash but perhaps a typical Pol crash. )

Pol Espargaro was fortunate to be semi-walking after his big crash at the recent Sepang test in Malaysia. The KTM factory MotoGP rider sat out the final day of the test after the high speed fall which sent him tumbling and into a trackside barrier at triple digit speeds.

Espargaro told reporters after the crash that he touched the front brake lever and crashed, which led to rumors that the KTM suffered a mechanical issue which sent the Spaniard doing a performing a super-painful 140 mph gymnastics routine. The KTM veered sharply off-track in the crash.

Espargaro, certainly no stranger to ginormous high speed crashes,  underwent surgery for a “herniated L4 vertebrae” after returning home according to KTM. That’s, probably, a herniated disc in his lower spine–a particularly painful injury under some circumstances.

He will be unable to ride at the upcoming Thailand MotoGP test.
