If your own personal dramatic mental image regarding the desert is formed around Lawrence of Arabia and his army storming the sand, then the scenes from today at Qatar might push you into a new one. One even scarier than hundreds of charging camels.
It’s been raining most of the day in Qatar and now the skyline is filled with lightning, huge swaths of the stuff. Also there is standing water everywhere.
