Jon Rea–pretty fast for a kinda sickly looking kid when he was younger but his is the current king of WSBK. It’s not really a secret anymore but he did grow up in Ireland or Scotland or Greenland–okay, Ireland–as a massive fan of American motocrosser Jeremy McGrath. Like he wanted to be him when he grew up. Pictures torn from magazines hung on bedroom wall-level fan. It’s a tough break that he had to end up a zillionare WSBK factory rider instead, but on Monday following the races at Laguna Seca the man in green, McGrath, will get to get his Laguna on with McGrath during the Pirelli track day held there.
The two met in 2015 and did the helmet exchange while they tried to ignore some gal’s pretend toolbox.
