RIP: Superbike Racer Wes Cooley

Superbike racer Wes Cooley Jr passed away over the weekend at age 65. Among many racing accomplishments (Superbike champion, Daytona winner etc) Cooley was revered for his victory in the first ever Suzuka 8 Hours world endurance event in 1978.

Cooley raced all over the world with success but struggled with health and addiction issues in his personal life. He was able to overcome them after racing and became a registered nurse.

Wes Cooley, a factory rider for both Kawasaki and Suzuki in America passed away over the weekend. thanks, Tom Halverson
