Prior to today’s MotoGP test at Jerez it seemed that Valentino Rossi signing with Petronas Yamaha for 2021 was a foregone conclusion. The announcement will be made at Jerez seemingly everyone suggested with confidence.
Unfortunately Rossi says he has not signed anything and there will be no announcement at Jerez.
Rossi’s direct quote: “We won‘t be able to confirm the Petronas SRT deal now. I haven’t signed yet, but we have decided together with Yamaha and Petronas SRT to talk about 2021. I’ve already spoken with Razlan Razali, Wilco Zeelenberg, and Johan Stigefelt and I have good feelings about it, but it’s not true that I already signed as there are still some details that we have to work out, but most likely I will be here in 2021!”
