Saturday Images from Laguna Seca WSBK Race 1 By Randy Pathfinder Saturday, June 23, 2018 Lap one from today’s race. It’s a battle for the lead between that one guy from Ireland and the other guy from Welch or whatever you call it. More racing. Follow me boys! Nobody lives forever! Savadori finds the gravel. Sykes slips down the order. It’s hard to be fast when Fast Eddie is on site. Davies runs wide!! On a Ducati!! Shock! Davies tries to recover without repeating the “ramping” incident. It’s close quarters–just like Chaz’s wedding night. (We assume) More drama. Jon Rea gets a wheel ahead. This might impress Eddie Lawson he thinks. (Naaa) Rea pulls advantage. Sykes and Laverty. Pippa! Laverty and Sykes. PippA! Lowes. They have rakes on sale at Lowes this weekend. Razgatlioglu hears that Lawson is on site. He immediate implodes and augers the Kaw into the ground. ‘Frickin’ diesels, anyway,’ he says trying to impress Eddie if he’s around. He’s not. Throw it on the pile with all the other bikes I’ve destroyed. Davies is secure in knowing he probably won’t be ramped in this race. A knee slider in hand Rea gives it to some guy who held up the right flag. Barring disaster, Jon Rea will move into Carl Fogarty territory at Magny Cours this weekend. Rea heads down to see if the rumors are true, that Fast Ed is at the track today. Three podium finishers, one without suncheaters. Return to News
