It’s a dreary afternoon at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. It’s spitting rain at the moment but the forecast for the weekend looks bright.
MotoAmerica teams are out on course for their Thursday practice sessions and the MotoGP press conference has taken place. There hasn’t been a DMG or AMA Superbike race previously at the Speedway and the only bikes that have lapped here at IMS, in the modern era, are the Yamaha Superbikes which did demo laps here during the Indy 500.
Reigning world champ Marc Marquez has won four races in a row here at IMS (including Moto2) and is targeting number five. He admits that when the track was slicker he liked it better but that did not seem to hinder him at all last year. Can anyone topple him?
For fans on the fence, Indy remains the a very economically affordable MotoGP race. Ticket info is here and most on-line lodging sites still show heaps of affordable and semi-affordable rooms.
