King Kenny Roberts cira 1974. He is wearing a Hurst Yamaha cap. Owner Darryl Hurst is Kevin Schwantz’s uncle.
Steve Morehead, aka the “Findlay Flyer” raced dirt track for more than 30 years. Morehead looks to be riding a Triumph here. He usually rides an XR750.

Skinny tires and just enough power made the ’70s the golden era of dirt track in America. This 11G is the late Randy Cleek, top rider passed away in Italy, not a car accident.
77 is Eddie Wirth, top Ascot guy who later became a good sprint car driver.
A Yamaha twin pipe mile bike. Probably a Twingle. If you held on too tight your hands never really felt the same again, they say.
The Yamaha twin looks like Kenny’s Peoria TT bike, does not look like an OW, Champion 650 with 750 kit. Note early DT tires.
Georgia’s Greg Sassman. Very much a front runner and fast in the 1970s. Stopped racing to start a Harley dealership and live a semi normal life.
