On the very first flying lap of the morning Superbike session here at Autodromo Internacional do Algarve, Tom Sykes crashed and his factory Kawasaki burst into flames. Sykes has a reported broken finger.
Sykes broke a finger and it is displaced according to WSBK. He will undergo surgery ASAP to repair the break and is out for at least the Portuguese round of the championship.
The crash was a very nasty one, throwing Sykes into the air and leaving him briefly on fire.
