We came across one of the coolest photos ever. Circa 1981, Soup believes it was taken at the Houston Astrodome. It features all of the AMA Grand National Champions through 1980. Pictured are (from left to right) Back Row: Joe Leonard, Gary Scott, Roger Reiman, Mark Brelsford, Gene Romero and Brad Andres. Middle Row: Kenny Roberts, Bart Markel, Dick Mann, Carroll Resweber, Mert Lawwill and Gary Nixon. Front Row: Randy Goss, Steve Eklund and Jay Springsteen. That’s every national champ from 1954 to 1980 – 15 riders representing 27 championships.
