Mulling, always mulling … DFA

Johann Zarco is preparing for his third and final appearance as an LCR Honda IDEMITSU rider and is determined to sign off in style at the season-ending Valencia Grand Prix. The Frenchman has been deputising for Takaaki Nakagami following his shoulder surgery and demonstrated his potential on the RC213V with a fine all round display in Malaysia last time out.

He was denied the result his efforts deserved at Sepang as he was taken out late on by Joan Mir when battling for eighth place but Zarco remains upbeat and will look to build on that positive performance at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo this weekend.

Johann Zarco
“Everything has happened quite suddenly for me. I decided to stop with KTM, then KTM decided to stop with me before the end of the season, I was waiting at home and then I got the call from Lucio Cecchinello to catch an opportunity for the last few races. I want to leave this opportunity (with LCR) in the best way I can and the last 15 days in Australia and Malaysia I enjoyed the feeling of riding again. From that now, there is the announcement of Jorge (Lorenzo). Things can happen, but everything is so fresh at the moment and it doesn’t change my target for this weekend. I’ll keep working on this good sensation I have on the bike and try to deliver the bike in the top eight, or why not the top five? The level of the bike is there, now I must do it.”
